The company Mitsubishi Motors introduced an updated version of the hybrid crossover Outlander PHEV. A sale of off-road vehicle with a gasoline-electric power plant has already started in Japan.
Restyled crossover designed in the style of a concept car XR-PHEV II, shown in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Utility received LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights and rear lights with LED-elements. He also got a new 18-inch wheel with two-tone color and the bottom plate on the front bumper. Inside, there was a different steering wheel.
The company argued that the engineers were able to significantly upgrade the sound insulation and increase rigidity, thereby improving controllability. In addition, the manufacturer adjusted the power of the hybrid system and reduced friction losses in the engine. It is possible to improve fuel economy by eight percent – to 4.95 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers in the combined cycle.
Details about the changes in the power plant are not still given. Facelift Outlander PHEV is equipped with a two-liter petrol 121-strong unit, two 86-horsepower electric motor and a set of lithium-ion battery capacity of 12 kWh.
In Japan, the price of a novelty range will be from 3.6 to 4.6 million yen (about $ 29 140 to $ 37 240).
