German journalist found out new details about the BMW Urban Cross – a model that will be on the step below the BMW X1.
There became known more details about the new crossover BMW, which will be the most affordable SUV in the line producer. It is a model of Urban Cross, the output of which is scheduled for 2017. As we found out journalists of publication auto motor und sport, the novelty will be the first car, realized in accordance with the new strategy of the brand.
According to insiders, in the case of the BMW Urban Cross we are not talking about how to “make smaller X1.” In contrast, the rate will be made to an interesting design with a sloping roofline as the coupe, but the car reaches about 4 meters in length, will have a trunk volume of 330 liters.
In technical terms, the new BMW Urban Cross will be built on the same front-drive platform as the BMW Active Tourer 2 and Gran Tourer. They will also be borrowed and some solutions in the interior. As for the power plants, the creators of the novelty will equip three- and four-cylinder engines, but the electric version of the new crossover will not.
