Sedan in 75 percent is made up of aluminum, so it became 190 pounds lighter than its predecessor. Weight distribution – “almost 50:50,” and the drag coefficient was 0.26. Rigidity torsional increased by 28 percent.
The length of the model decreased by seven millimeters (up to 4954 mm) and height – to three millimeters (up to 1457 mm). The size of the wheelbase grew by 51 mm – up to 2,960 millimeters. In the “Jaguar” claim, the new XF has the largest rear legroom in its class passengers.
In the engine range will include two-liter sedan diesel units Ingenium family producing 163 (380 Nm of torque) and 180 (430 Nm) horsepower. In addition, Jaguar XF will be available with three-liter twin-turbo “six” to “heavy fuel” outstanding 300 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
Gasoline turbo engine line is represented by 2.0, developing 240 (340 Nm) horsepower, supercharged three-liter and V6, available in two versions of power – 340 and 380 power (450 Nm). Two-liter diesel engines are able to work with a six-step “mechanics” or eight-rate “automatic”, and all other motors combined only with an automatic transmission.
Jaguar XF in standard equipment will be available with passive suspension, but at an additional cost sedan can be equipped with adaptive shock absorbers. The driver will also be able to choose from several modes of control electronics, optimizes suspension, steering, engine and “machine”, depending on driving style.
In addition, the sedan will be available for the system All-Surface Progress Control (ASPC), providing optimum ride “on the adverse coatings at low speed.” It works on the principle of cruise control speeds up to 30 kilometers per hour, automatically controlling operation of an accelerator and a brake system, preventing the wheels slip, for example, in deep snow.
Jaguar XF will be the second model of the British brand (after XE), which will receive a brand new multimedia complex InControl with quad core processor. The system provides for a 10.2-inch touch screen, voice control, Bluetooth-protocol, as well as the ability to integrate with the devices on the platform iOS and Android.
