Germany car manufacturer showed concept of electric supercar with function of independent control
Audi Company officially presented concept of electric supercar with automatic pilot. New Audi car, built on the base of Audi R8 e-tron, was represented on the exhibition of portable consumer electronics devices CES in Shanghai.
For Audi it is third concept-car with function of independent control. While driving in independent mode, a automobile is ruled with help of data, received from deferent resources – several video cameras, radars, laser scanner and ultrasound detector. All information is operated by central trip computer, which create “whole picture”.
In technological case, Audi R8 e-tron Piloted Driving Concept (that is whole name) has no changes with standard R8 e-tron. Automobile is equipped with electromotor with 462 hp and 920 Nm and is able to accelerate to 100 km in 3.9 seconds. On one charge car is able to drive 450 km.
Audi Company noticed that self-driving R8 e-tron is important element in implementation to technology production, which will afford to give control of drive to electronics”.
It is to be recalled that first serial model Audi, which will receive function of automatic pilot, will become Audi R8 of new generation. The premiere will be in 2017.
